The Chapel of the Bildchen
was erected in the middle of the woods in 1848. The lower part of the Castle Chapel altar was transferred into this shrine, and each year on the first Sunday after 16th August, the whole congregation of Vianden goes on an impressive pilgrimage to the miraculous statue of Our Virgin of the Bildchen, sheltered in this chapel.
